On Friday 6th January 2023, IDEM was presented with the Queens Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2022. Accompanied by the Mayor of Bolton and The Deputy Mayor of Wigan, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for Greater Manchester, Ms Diane Hawkins LL JP LLB presented the Queen’s Award to Mr Medi Mohtasham, Founder and Managing Director of IDEM Safety Switches.

As the UK’s largest producer of machine safety devices, IDEM is recognised worldwide as a leading innovator in the design and manufacture of Guard Interlocks, Rope Switches, E-Stops, RFID Contactless and Trapped Key systems. Headquartered in Wigan, Lancashire, the company proudly places a strong emphasis on research and new design development to ensure its customers are at the forefront of machine and conveyor safety.

The Queens Award for Enterprise: International Trade recognises UK companies with a minimum of £100,000 in overseas sales and several years of outstanding and consistent growth.

IDEM’s reputation for reliable safety devices has allowed the company to grow its sales to the extent that more than 90% of its production is now exported. Through a network of industry partners and distributors, the IDEM Safety Switches is now represented on every continent, with products available in more than 40 countries.

On receiving the award, IDEM’s Managing Director Medi Motasham said:
