Emergency Stop Stations with OSSD (Stainless Steel)
IDEM’s range of emergency stops with OSSD outputs are designed to provide robust emergency stop function for exposed conveyors or machines, as well as achieving and maintaining a high level of functional safety. They are used by operators to shut down a machine, system, or process in the event of an emergency.
Emergency stop switches are mounted on machines and sections of plant conveyors that cannot be protected by guards. In combination with safety monitoring controllers, these devices can be used as emergency stops and monitored up to CAT4/PLe, even when connected in series (up to 30 units). Due to the OSSD outputs and internal self-monitoring, faults are detected immediately and displayed via the LED on the lid and/or through the use of the auxiliary output.
All of IDEM’s emergency stop switches come with a special safety trip lid mechanism, meaning that the safety contacts will open if the lid is removed from the body, adding an extra level of protection.
For the harsh environments like Food Processing, Pharmaceutical and Petro-Chemical Industries, the stainless steel 316 range offers protection up to IP69K for use in high pressure chemical cleaning or CIP/SIP applications. The IP69K enclosure protection (maintained by a double seal lid gasket) and can be high pressure hosed with detergent up to +80C and 100psi.
