Solenoid Controlled Safety Interlock Switches (Stainless Steel)

Our extensive range of solenoid locking tongue safety switches have been designed to provide robust position and lock detection, keeping guard closed until the hazard has been removed.

Designed to fit to the leading edge of sliding, hinged or removable machine guards, they provide positively operated switching contacts for both the actuator position and solenoid status.

The dual tongue entry point features our highly reliable anti-tamper cam system that cannot be easily defeated. The head can be rotated to provide additional actuation angles (up to 8 on certain models).

Depending on the risk assessment for the application, they can be used independently to provide positively operated contacts to IEC60947-5-1. Additionally, they can be used in combination with any dual channel safety monitoring relays to provide up to PLe Category 4 to ISO13849-1 or SIL3 EN62061.

Optional rear release (RR) is available where your risk assessment permits the use of a non-latching manual escape button, to enable quick release of the switch in case of an emergency.

For the harsh environments like Food Processing, Pharmaceutical and Petro-Chemical Industries the Stainless Steel 316 range offers protection up to IP69K for use in high pressure chemical cleaning or CIP/SIP applications. The IP69K enclosure protection (maintained by a double seal lid gasket) and can be high pressure hosed with detergent up to +80C and 100psi.

Guard Locking Safety Switch up to 2000N (KL1-SS)

The KL1-SS guard locking safety interlock features a compact 316 stainless steel body and a holding force of up to 2000N to keep medium to large guard doors closed until hazards have been removed.

Guard Locking Safety Switch with Pushbutton up to 3000N (KL4-SS)

The KL4-SS guard locking safety interlock features a slimline, mirror polished 316 stainless steel body and a holding force of up to 3000N to keep medium to large guard doors closed until hazards have been removed. Available with a momentary pushbutton in the lid with a single set of changeover contacts.

The KLT-SS has a low body profile with industry standard 73mm fixing centres, to enable easy retrofitting to new or existing guards.
