The HSM-Z hinge switches are housed in a die-cast body and provides incredibly robust interlock position sensing of hinged moving guards.

Once fitted to the hinged axis of the machine guard door, they Keep personnel safe from hazards and protect your equipment from damage.

These robust hinge switches are suitable for mounting a machine guard door directly to the frame, providing up to 800N axial holding force. If the gate is opened at any time, the switch will promptly turn off the safety outputs, stopping the hazardous process. Due to the OSSD outputs and internal self-monitoring, they are suitable for use up to CAT, SIL3, PLe, even when connected in series.

Operation of the HS is achieved by opening the guard until it reaches a user-defined switching point. Positive actuation of the contacts is achieved at only 6 degrees of opening and can be adjusted up to 12 degrees after installation.

If the guard door requires two hinges (or more) to support its size and weight, a blank hinge can be purchased.
