Door Hinge Safety Interlock Switches
IDEM’s Door Hinge Safety Interlocks come in three types: load-bearing hinge, hinged lever, and rotating hinge. These safety door interlock switches are installed at the hinge point of equipment, such as doors, and function seamlessly with the hinge’s normal operation. When connected to the power supply, they will cut the circuit if the door opens at an inappropriate time, enhancing safety while maintaining normal functionality. Hinge safety interlocks are a superior alternative to traditional door contacts, offering improved safety without compromising operation.
Designed to prevent tampering and protect personnel, door hinge safety interlocks monitor access to hazardous areas. If someone attempts to open a protected door, the hinge switch disconnects power to the equipment, preventing injuries and protecting machinery from damage.
IDEM’s door interlock switches are adaptable to various types of equipment, available in different sizes and capacities. The trigger angle range, as well as the maximum current and voltage compatibility, varies to suit specific applications.
The HS-Series hinge switches can also be load-bearing, providing an axial holding force of 800N, ideal for heavy doors. Operation is achieved by opening the guard to a user-defined switching point, with positive actuation of contacts occurring at just 6 degrees of opening, adjustable up to 12 degrees post-installation.
Our Hinge Switches are ideal for most industrial applications, including but not limited to:
- Manufacturing
- Automotive
- Food and Beverage Processing
- Packaging
- Pharmaceuticals
- Robotics
