Safety Limit Switches for Explosive Environments (Stainless Steel)
In electrical and safety engineering, hazardous locations are places where fire or explosion hazards may exist. Sources of such hazards include gases, vapours, dust and fibres which are combustible or flammable.
IDEM’s range of Safety Limit Switches have been developed to operate in explosive environments. The internal contact block has been third party approved by IECEx to the latest ATEX standards.
They have been designed to be mounted for position sensing of moving applications e.g. guard doors, conveyors, machine beds, elevators. For safety applications it is important that the moving object does not pass completely over the switch actuators so as to either cause damage to the actuator or allow it to return to its original position.
For the harsh environments like Food Processing, Pharmaceutical and Petro-Chemical Industries, the stainless steel 316 range offers protection up to IP69K for use in high pressure chemical cleaning or CIP/SIP applications. The IP69K enclosure protection (maintained by a double seal lid gasket) and can be high pressure hosed with detergent up to +60C and 100psi.
