Safety Limit Switches for Explosive Environments (Die Cast)
In electrical and safety engineering, hazardous locations are places where fire or explosion hazards may exist. Sources of such hazards include gases, vapours, dust and fibres which are combustible or flammable.
IDEM’s range of Safety Limit Switches have been developed to operate in explosive environments. The internal contact block has been third party approved by IECEx to the latest ATEX standards.
They have been designed to be mounted for position sensing of moving applications e.g. guard doors, conveyors, machine beds, elevators. For safety applications it is important that the moving object does not pass completely over the switch actuators so as to either cause damage to the actuator or allow it to return to its original position.
The housings are manufactured from a robust, die-cast body which has been painted black and red. The head is manufactured from Stainless Steel, suitable for frequent use in harsh environments.
