Trapped Key Control Isolation Switches for Explosive Environments (Die-Cast)
In electrical and safety engineering, hazardous locations are places where fire or explosion hazards may exist. Sources of such hazards include gases, vapours, dust and fibres which are combustible or flammable.
IDEM’s range of Trapped Key Control Isolation switches have been developed to operate in explosive environments. The internal contact block has been third party approved by IECEx to the latest ATEX standards.
The system works by releasing a factory coded mechanical key in a pre-determined sequence to ensure the machine control circuitry is isolated before accessing hazardous or dangerous machinery.
After the machine control has been isolated (first key turned in the system) the key from the isolator can then be used to release other trapped keys to permit access to the guarded areas.
